Good Times

Here's a card I've made for a friend who has a birthday early January and complains about how all the cards she gets always feel wintery, so I thought I'd break the mould! I've used the sketch over on the Inspirational Card Sketches

So sparkly and shiny!

A bit more of a close up :)

Hope you like it, and she does, lol! xxx

I just LOVE these penguins! I followed the sketch over on The Sweet Stop.

Look at how shiny the whole card is! The shiny chipboard snowflake, the gold dotty ribbon and the glittery hats and glossy accents on the penguins' feet, noses, candy cane, cracker and champagne!

Here's a close up of the little guys :)

I cut the penguins out and gave a bit more dimension by sticking the two with the cracker straight on the card and then foam mounted the other three :)

I'm really pleased with how this one turned out, hope you all like it too! xxx

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Pretty pink tilda!

This one really didnt take long once I'd found the right paper!

I used the sketch on Tuesday Morning Sketches it had a twist this week a bingo board.
I did "jingle bells, glitter, trees" (you can see on the patterned paper that it says jingle bells and pine needles" and if I could count the green lace/ribbon as "christmas ribbon" I'd also have "Jingle bells, christmas ribbon and funky christmas colors"!

And here's a close up of Tilda

So you can see some of the dimensions

Look at the pretty embossing powder that had glitter in it!

Hope you like :)

I'm not going to be posting how I've made them unless you guys tell me otherwise - but if there is something you're interested in knowing, just leave me a comment and I'll get back to you :)

Putting down the details of how I made it is taking quite a lot of my time at the moment, I think because I'm getting forgetful! I'm starting to wonder if I'm better off just saying, if you've got any questions about any of the elements put down a comment and I'll get back to you that way...whatcha think?!

Mice Misteloe Kisses

I LOVE this stamp and find it quite sad that I can only use it at Christmas!
I resisted going crazy and glittering up the jumpers this time though, and just did the holly berries and the ears...and a little bit on the felt reindeer and stars! I used the sketch on the Sweet Stop challenge blog.

The red ribbon is a crushed velvet texture, but unfortunately the camera doesn't seem to like it much and it makes it look wonky on the card!! I've given up trying to take the photo in a way that it doesn't do this and thought I'd just tell you all instead :)

I'm pleased I got a lot of dimensions into this card too :)

And here you can see the sparkles a bit better

Here's how I made it...
Card & Paper:
- Blue and Red paper are from Stampin Up Brights collection
- Patterned paper is from stash

Picture:
- Image is a stamp by Gillian Roberts for Stampavie "Mistleoe and Mice"
- Stamped using Memento "Tuxedo black" and coloured with copics
- The ears & tails are stickled with "fruit punch", the holly berries have "xmas red" on them and the bow has "waterfall" on it.
- Sentiment is from a Lili of the Valley christmas sentiment set

Finishing touches:
- Blue backing card is embossed with divine swirls cuttlebug embossing folder.
- Image and sentiment are inked around the edge with memento "lady bug"
- Ribbon is from stash
- Felt stars are from John Lewis - I took the peg off the bottom one. The darker insides of the stars are stickled with "xmas red"
- Felt reindeer from Paperchase & dots stickled onto it are "xmas red" too.
- Holly leaves and berries are from Papermania "Adhesive Stones - evergreen" set. I found these when digging around!
- Image, backing paper and printed paper and backing paper cut out with nesties and cuttlebug.

Challenges I'm entering this into are:
The Sweet Stop - I used their sketch
Creative Card Crew - "Tis the season"

Crafts and Me - Christmas
I think that's all! Hope you like it :) xxx

Crackers for Christmas

Hi All,

Starting to get on a bit of a roll now!

I made this card using the sketch over at Sketch Saturday. I decided to challenge myself a bit and did TWO brave (for me!) things...firstly, I kept it monochromatic and I also used Tim Holtz distress ink on my white card to make the background snowflake card. I've used it to ink around edges etc before, but never been brave enough to do a whole page before!

I was trying to get a "dimensionality" shot; it didn't quite work.

And final a close up of the little mouse & cracker.

Paper & Card:
- Blue card from Stampin Up brights collection
- White card on background is from stash
- Image is printed on smooth white card from Elzybells
- Snowflake patterned papers are from a dovecraft's winter set
- Dotty paper is from stash

Picture:
- Elzybells stamp printed with memento tuxedo black ink
- Coloured with copics
- Crown is stickled with "yellow"

Finishing Touches:
- Papers & Image are all edged with Tim Holtz faded jeans distress ink
- White backing card was embossed with my cuttlebug and the cuttlebug ice crystals embossing folder
- Backing card was then covered with the faded jeans distress ink

- I then stuck little gems on to the snowflake centres on the backing card.
- Felt ribbon is from stash
- Blue card candy is from craftwork cards and has been stickled with "waterfall"
- Sentiment is a stick on from stash

Challenges I'm entering this into are:
Sketch Saturday - I used their sketch
Stampin for the Weekend - "Christmas"
Lexi's Creation - "Untraditional Christmas - no red or green"
Oldie but a Goodie - Christmas Animals
Creative Card Crew - Tis the season
Everybody-Art-Challenge - Blue and white
Papertake Weekly- I'm dreaming of a (insert favourite colour here [blue and white]) Christmas!
Crafts and Me - Christmas
Fussy and Fancy Friday - monochromatic and sparkle

Hope you like it! xxx

Christmas is coming!

Hi All,
I've spent this last week frantically making xmas cards (yes, very, VERY late this year!) Just starting to share some of them on the blog, my pictures are really misbehaving though and even though I'm saving them all rotated etc, it's turning them back upside down when I upload them to blogger arrgghghhh! So, I'm having to copy and paste in PAINT to get them to actually behave correctly, it's making the whole process quite a lot slower...so I'll post as many as I can whilst my patience holds out! I also need to photo a couple more but it gets dark so early I havent managed to do it yet! Anywho enough wittering on from me, here's the first one I'm sharing :)

I used the sketch over on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog this week.

And so you can see the "dimensionality" of it a bit better :) I love the way the light catches the embossed background.

Cards & Paper:
- Green metallic is from DCWV metallic stack
- The patterned snowman / stocking / snowflake / star / etc paper strip was in my stash and I think originally from a dovecraft christmas stack.
- The blue card is from a stampin up brights collection
- Image is stamped on elzybells smooth white card (I'm going to be SO sad when I run out of this, its sooo good for copic colouring)

Picture
- Image from Holly Jolly stamp set from Penny Black.
- Stamped with memento tuxedo black ink
- Coloured with Copics
- Snowman's nose has been stickled with "fruit punch"
- Snowmans hat has been "fuzzied" using quickie glue and doodle bug crushed velvet.
- Sentiment is from a LOTV christmas set.

Finishing touches:
- Green card was embossed with my cuttlebug & the cuttlebug ice crystals embossing folder.
- Crystal snowmen are from a papermania adhesive snowmen set.
- Gems are from stash.
- Image, sentiment & blue backing are cut out with nesties and cuttlebug.

Challenges I'm entering it into:
- Penny Black Saturday Challenge - I used their sketch
- Craft Your Days Away - "Snowmen"
- Totally Gorjuss - "Let it Snow"
- Stampin' For the Weekend - "Christmas"
- The Pink Elephant - Snowflakes and Sparkle
- Oldie but a goodie - Christmas Animals
- Cupcake Craft Challenges - "dont look at the light" sparkles, shines, gleams, glints and/ or glitters
- Creative Card Crew - Tis the season

Phew! That was a long one, hope you all like it! xxxx

Wednesday 14 December 2011

It's been quite some time...

Hi blogland,

Sorry its been so long - we had a few family losses and then work cranked up to a level that not even I (who can survive on just 4 hours sleep most nights) could maintain my love of crafting alongside.

I'm getting back into it now though, and I'm sad because I have made some cards in the last 12 months but I think I deleted the photos (assuming I MUST have uploaded them) and now they are lost and I wont get to share them :(

I'll have some to share with you in the next couple of days though, and maybe even a sweet treat to celebrate my return.

Take care all xx
